Learning Resources

The Emirates Aviation Experience is proud to provide you with online learning resources, ranging from KS1 – KS4 and covering topics such as Science and Travel and Tourism. These resources are useful both as a post-visit resource to enhance what your school/college group has already learnt or as a home-school resource.

The Science Behind Flight - Key Stage 1 and 2

The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger plane in the world! How do we get something so heavy into the air?

Have a look at the pointed, narrow shape of the plane’s nose. We call this the nose cone. Its shape allows it to cut through air resistance.

In this exercise learn about aerodynamics. Study different objects and describe their features to understand what is an aerodynamic shape. You will also get to draw the objects!

The Science Behind Flight - Key Stage 2 and 3

The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger aircraft in the world. As you can see below, it has two rows of cabin windows. That’s because it’s a double-decker plane that can fit more than 500 passengers on board across two floors. How do we get such a large object over 40,000 feet into the sky?

In this exercise learn about the main parts of an aircraft, their properties, and the two very important principles without which we would not be able to fly.

Travel and Tourism - Key Stage 4

Eco Tourism refers to holidays that do little or no damage to the natural environment and benefit local communities. They are normally centred around unique natural environments or wildlife habitats including:

  • Safari Parks
  • Rainforests
  • National Parks
  • Mountains
  • Coral Reefs

In this exercise you will learn about the Al Maha Desert Conservation Reserve in Dubai, a great example of an Eco Tourism destination, and even get to design your own Eco Tourism holiday.
